Sousse is a very popular tourist destination right on the coast between Monistir and Hammemet. This stretch of the country has been given the name ‘the gold coast’ due to its white sanded beaches stretching as far as the eye can see.

Tourism in the area has soared in recent years, however, being the third largest city in Tunisia you never feel overcrowded, the population is only 300,000 people.

Although the port El Kantaoui and the manufacturing of textiles helps to boost its economy the main contribution by a large stretch is tourism, this is due to the fact that the area has a lot to offer tourists and has not lost its authenticity like other tourist destinations can do.
