Renaissance House 95 superb quality apartments in historical District VII ranging from 39 - 178 sqm Location The Renaissance Houses are located on KAZINCZY Street, in District VII, between WESSELENYI Street and DOHANY Street. The inner part of this historic district resembles the old Jewish Quarter of Budapest. Formed by history the area features a unique architecture. Up to the turn of the 18th century the city of Pest had been surrounded by a wall. Since no Jews were allowed to live within the city until the end of the 18th century, a ghetto was formed outside of the city.
This prohibition was abrogated in 1783 when Emperor Joseph II decreed that cities could not restrict the settlement of Jews and the city of Pest permitted settlement in 1786. After the decree the district started booming and the recent structure was formed.
During WW-II the district became deserted and many of the buildings were destroyed. Almost untouched for 45 years the area applied for protection under the World Heritage Found and a rehabilitation project has been introduced to renovate the buildings making them attractive for the middle class while preserving the historic tradition of the area. After many years of neglect and disregard in recent years the district is becoming a fashionable area with coffeehouses, restaurants, bookstores and galleries opening on the narrow streets and international companies moving to the modern office buildings.
Price Water House, Svoboda, the Hungarian Cultural Ministry and many others have their offices in the neighbouring streets. The faculties of the Science University, the Music Academy, the Theatre and Film Academy are few minutes walking from here and excellent public transportation (all three subway lines, #49 tram and #7 bus within 2 minutes walking) makes the district attractive for young professionals and students alike. Payment Terms 20% - 80% with refundable reservation fee of €2000
