Understanding the role of an overseas property agent.

The Right move Abroad are an overseas property agent. This means that we are the middle man between you the client, and the developers who are based in the country in which you are looking to purchase. Because we work closely with these developers on a daily basis we are exceptionally well placed to work on your behalf in order to facilitate a smooth, trouble free buying process.

Why do you need the services of an overseas property agent?

We will provide the right facts about the countries and regions in which our clients are interested. This leads to you having confidence that you have made a correct, well informed choice.
We give you an understanding of the buying process. We sell overseas property every day and our experienced property consultants know all of the procedures required to make your sale a successful one. We know the pitfalls to look out for as well!
We can offer a good range of properties because we recognise that our clients are all individuals. Some people are purely looking to make a financial investment, whilst others are more concerned about buying a holiday home for themselves which their friends and family can also enjoy from time to time. We have a broad range of properties available to suit everyone.
We make the right checks on properties for sale. The Right Move Abroad go to great lengths to ensure that the developers we work with satisfy the standards that our clients expect. This process is extremely important to us. You may hear it referred to as “due diligence”, essentially this means that we vet the developers that we work with very closely and run a large number of checks before we are happy to market properties on behalf of all developers. We can then pass this confidence along to our clients.
We offer viewing trips to all of the markets in which we sell. We have a team on the ground that will make this experience as straight forward and informative as possible for you. One of our unique selling points is that we do not conduct mass inspection trips like many other overseas property agents. When you view properties with The Right Move Abroad you will not be part of a large group of buyers, our service is personal and we want you to dictate the terms of your visit. Most agents do not encourage you to define your own schedule on inspection trips and that is where we differ. We are conscious that you may want your own time to explore therefore we will show you the developments that you are interested in and then we want you to take your time and get a feel for the area. In fact, we are so confident in the developments that we sell, that we really don’t mind if you want to check out other developments in the area. We are sure that you will return safe in the knowledge that The Right Move Abroad are the people to do business with.
Assistance throughout the process. The Right Move Abroad have staff members that look after the interests of our clients throughout the process. We have a pre-sales team who make all of the up-front due diligence checks, then we have our property consultants who you will get to know when choosing your purchase. In addition we have a post-sales team who are available to give you advice all the way. For example we will update you with information and recommended services along the way such as furniture services, home insurance etc. In short, we are with you every step of the way until you receive your keys.

What an overseas property agent IS NOT.

You may think this is an odd piece of information for us to include on our website! However, we want you to be confident about your expectations of us right from the word go. Some overseas property agents make bold claims regarding the services that they can offer. Obviously we want you to do business with The Right Move Abroad but we are realistic enough to know that you may also check out other agents. If any agent claims the following then we advise that you steer clear:

Claiming to be the actual vendor of the property. A property agent is hardly ever the vendor of a property. As pointed out earlier an overseas property agent is limited to proving a professional “middle-man” service between you the client and the developer.
Claiming to offer Legal advice / being a lawyer. Overseas property agents are not in a position to offer you legal advice and you should be extremely wary of any that make these claims. The Right Move Abroad can provide you with the right contacts in legal matters, and these recommended third parties are experts in that arena. We stick to what we do best: informing you about your properties of interest.
Claiming to be the Mortgage Broker. As above, any overseas property agent who claims to be able to help directly with your mortgage should be treated with suspicion. Once again The Right Move Abroad will point you in the right direction but we cannot provide direct financial advice. No reputable agent would claim to do so.

In summary we always encourage our clients to do as much research about us as they need to in order to feel confident when dealing with us. We understand that buying an overseas property is for many people one of the biggest and most expensive decisions you will ever make and we appreciate that you may have many questions for us.
